LOUNGE LIZARD is known for its sharp, smart tailoring, focusing on slim silhouettes and styles that include tailored jackets, workwear, military-inspired pieces, and slim-fit trousers. Designer Manabu Yaegashi explains the latest collection.

An air of allure within masculinity
—What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
We haven't set a specific narrative theme. We focused on creating a collection that reflects the current era within the established world of LOUNGE LIZARD.
This season, we've meticulously crafted popular items like mod coats and other military pieces, as well as our denim series, while also incorporating longer-length items such as Chesterfield coats made from high-quality wool.
—What were the key points you focused on for this season's look shoot, and what should people pay attention to?
We aimed to emphasize LOUNGE LIZARD's definitive atmosphere of sharp masculinity, while adding a fresh sensibility through styling with items like sneakers and coats.
—What is the key look (coordination) for this season?
The look combining a double rider's jacket with a leopard-print scarf. We believe it's a key look that captures LOUNGE LIZARD's signature blend of masculinity and allure.
LOUNGE LIZARD Fukuoka, the sixth store nationwide, opens in early August
—What are the key items and key colors?
Black is our brand color and serves as the key color, but shades like beige, camel, and blue also add a contemporary touch this season.
—What "materials" did you focus on this season?
We've paid attention to materials throughout, but this season we particularly focused on the construction of our wool items. We collaborated closely with fabric mills, discussing textures and weaves to create them.
—What is the most rewarding aspect of being a designer?
It might sound cliché, but the most joyful moment is seeing people happy wearing LOUNGE LIZARD. It's a simple pleasure, and something I believe we must never forget.
—A message to your fans.
Perhaps there are more choices now, and people's values regarding fashion are changing, but I hope everyone enjoys fashion. And I hope LOUNGE LIZARD can exist just beyond their reach, inspiring them to aspire a little higher.
