Proposing a New American Casual
In the mid-1960s, American hit charts were dominated by young British artists. Music from bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones flooded American radio, which had previously been dominated by rock and roll and country songs. The media at the time interpreted this situation as a '(musical) invasion by Britain' and called it the 'British Invasion'.—The theme for the latest collection from 'Rags McGREGOR' is the 'British Invasion'. The styling, inspired by the American music scene of the time influenced by Britain, is fresh.

Adding Fresh Elements to a Masculine Black Image
—What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
This season's theme is 'British Invasion'. David Bailey, who came to New York, meets Bob Dylan at Andy Warhol's Factory.—That kind of image.
Rags McGREGOR, which has previously expressed vintage-like American casual wear from the 50s and 60s, now incorporates British elements, adding a touch of dressiness and sexiness to create a cooler wardrobe. Of course, the masculine black image remains, and with a background of diverse musical genres such as rock, jazz, blues, and folk, the collection has broadened its scope.
—What were the points you focused on and want us to pay attention to in this season's look shoot?
McWe propose a new American casual style by mixing the 60s American casual style represented by GREGOR with the traditional British style born in London and Liverpool.
—What are the key looks (coordinations) this season?
A quintessential 60s style coordinating an authentic outer with a London-esque short-point button-down shirt and slim bottoms. Also, a loose & tight silhouette coordinating oversized boyfriend knits and cardigans worn by 60s 'It Girls' with slim bottoms.
—What are the key items and key colors?
A lightweight leather jacket like those worn by members of The Velvet Underground. A black ranch coat like Johnny Cash's. A denim jacket with a fur lining, like those worn by Warhol's muses in the 60s. A Chesterfield coat loved by British Teddy Boys. A 10-button long peacoat, a great heritage piece from the Royal Navy. A balmacaan coat popular with Mods.
—What 'materials' did you focus on this season?
Original fabric with the 60s McGregor check updated in a color scheme based on Rags McGREGOR's key color, black. Original leopard print fabric. Original melton fabric used for peacoats and varsity jackets.

We plan to participate in FNO again this year. We are planning various things!
