ITTY-BITTY 2013-14 Autumn/Winter Collection
ITTY-BITTY
The brand's theme: "TIMELESS = New balances for familiar items."
Aiming for timeless craftsmanship.
"For this season's lookbook shoot, we focused on 'balance.' Within the limited scope of menswear items, we considered how to present new balances in silhouette, coordination, material, color, and era," say ITTY-BITTY designers Tomoyo Yonezawa and Masanori Uda. The two explain their latest collection.

Timeless from the moment of release. Creating pieces loved regardless of the era.
—What is the theme/concept for the 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection?
"TIMELESS" = New balances for familiar items.—However, this is more of a brand theme than a seasonal one. We love timeless things and find value in them.
But this isn't about being "standard," "continuous," or "basic." It's about unchanging techniques, tailoring, form, quality, attention to detail, functionality, and aesthetics. It's not that their value becomes apparent only with time; they are timeless from the moment of release. Pieces loved regardless of the era – that is, unaffected by the times. We want to create things like that.
—What is the key look (coordination) for this season?
For the bottoms of a double-breasted jacket incorporating classic elements, we paired them with easy pants made from the same fabric. By combining a masculine item (the double-breasted jacket) with a highly relaxed item (the easy pants) using the same fabric, we've created a coordination with an indescribable balance.
—What are the key items and key colors?
The key item is the double-breasted jacket. We've tailored it to be compact, with a clean silhouette, a large collar, extended shoulders, and a dropped shoulder seam for a sharp, masculine impression. The fabric has a soft, slightly casual texture, so we've deliberately set it against a silhouette with the opposite impression. By creating a strong difference between the front and back, we bring out its character, and by making the front longer, it achieves a classic double-breasted jacket look.
The key color is navy. We've carefully selected the shade of navy. We offer various expressions of navy – grayish navy, greenish navy, near-black navy – not just a flat tone.
—What "materials" were you particular about this season?
We create all our materials, so we have a strong attachment to each one. Among them, the check shirt fabric is particularly special because we developed the pattern from scratch. Using high-quality fine-count double yarn (80/2) for both warp and weft, we adjusted the warp and weft density to achieve clear, soft colors that tend to be blurry. The fabric is a light viera with a slightly brushed surface due to increased weft density, and we've created an original check pattern by exploring subtle color variations and applying various arrangements.
—What is the most rewarding part of being a designer?
When we can guide a discovered material into a beautiful form. And when we can share that feeling with others.
—A message to your fans.
We hope to continue creating the atmosphere of the moment in forms that we believe are beautiful.
