Waist-Shaped Silhouettes
"London Collections Men" began in Spring/Summer 2013. This marks Tom Ford's second presentation. The "New O'Connor" presented this time is based on the suit worn in the James Bond film "Skyfall" (original title: Skyfall).
Appearing in the collection were Tom Ford's signature silhouettes, slightly nipped at the waist, continuing from Autumn/Winter 2013. Furthermore, the trousers were cut slightly shorter and paired with soft moccasins, loafers, and embroidered slippers.
The overall characteristic of Spring/Summer 2014 is "color." Pink, red, green, vibrant blue, purple, as well as floral print jackets and trousers were part of the lineup, emphasizing a wide range of colors.
Attention is drawn to the styling that expresses greater casualness with jackets worn without pocket squares and paired with high-gauge turtleneck sweaters. Also, in a first for Tom Ford, V-neck T-shirts were combined with evening wear as innerwear, creating a "summer evening" look.
Pocket squares were also omitted in this styling. The floral print and embroidered slippers evoke an oriental atmosphere, including the color palette. White trousers were accented with a sash belt, resembling an obi.
