A Fabric Rooted in New Zealand
'Takizawa Shigeru' is a brand by Shigeru Takizawa, one of the most important figures in Japanese bespoke tailoring. His suits, born from a relentless pursuit of modeling and tailoring techniques, can be said to reach the realm of art.
The newly released suits are made from Dormeuil's 'JADE' fabric, crafted from 'Super 160 wool' woven from ultra-fine count yarns. 'JADE' is the English term for jade, and true to its name, it is a luxurious fabric unlike any other, woven with jade itself.
While Russia and China are major sources of jade, Dormeuil's 'JADE' fabric uses jade from New Zealand. The yarns are also New Zealand wool, making it a fabric truly rooted in New Zealand.
The Māori, the indigenous people of New Zealand, called jade 'pounamu' and used it as a sacred stone with mystical powers in rituals and for weapons. Even today, wearing jade as an accessory is believed to bring health, good fortune, and peace. This is the ultimate suit, allowing one to feel the power of jade with their entire being, through the finest tailoring.
