Cycling jerseys, a staple of Mod fashion in the early 60s
The "Bradley Wiggins Collection" is a capsule collection that blends Bradley Wiggins' retro Mod style, for which he is a self-proclaimed Fred Perry fan, with cycling wear details and Fred Perry's signature minimal, clean British aesthetic. The designs, inspired by the unique relationship between sports and subculture, are intriguing.
Regarding this collaboration, Bradley Wiggins stated, "My partnership with Fred Perry might have remained just a dream... I have long been a fan of the brand, drawn to its support of the Mod movement and its unparalleled connection to subculture. My goal was to create authentic off-cycle wear inspired by the best of sporting tradition, a subject I am deeply passionate about. Fred Perry provided me with that opportunity."
Bradley Wiggins' brilliant achievements and his acknowledged modernist sensibilities perfectly align with Fred Perry's brand equity, which celebrated its 60th anniversary last year. This has been elevated into original designs.
