A Look Inside "entoan"'s Shoe Cabinet!

The shoe brand "entoan" started in December 2009.──Designer Yoshihiro Sakurai, who contemplates "time for people and things," has created the "GETABAKO (Shoe Cabinet)." Made from paulownia wood and designed for "time with shoes," orders are being accepted until March 26 (Tuesday) at the shoe section on the B1 floor of Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building.

Focus on Materials, Design, and Craftsmanship That Make Shoes Happy

Entoan designer Yoshihiro Sakurai was born in 1984. His shoes are made-to-order, allowing customers to choose sizes, designs, and leathers. He is a notable shoe artisan featured in magazines like "Soen."

The newly created "GETABAKO (Shoe Cabinet)" not only stores dress shoes and boots but also includes dedicated space for care products. A table and chair for maintenance are also integrated. It's stackable, allowing you to expand it according to the number of shoes you own.

The material used is paulownia wood, traditionally employed for storing and preserving precious items like kimonos. It possesses excellent properties such as insect repellency, humidity control (absorbing and releasing moisture), low shrinkage, and low thermal conductivity, making it ideal for shoe storage.

The shoe cabinets are produced by Ishimoku Co., Ltd., a company specializing in furniture made from solid paulownia wood. Ishimoku's original coating, which resists stains and water, is used. It's easy to maintain and handle. Optionally, diatomaceous earth plates, known for their superior water absorption, humidity control, and deodorizing properties, can be placed inside the cabinet.

Furthermore, this special "GETABAKO (Shoe Cabinet)" includes a dedicated space for geta (traditional wooden sandals), stemming from the maker's suggestion: "Your feet are tired from wearing shoes all day... why not try wearing geta for a walk on your days off?"

Currently, at the "Time with My Shoes" event held in the Men's Shoe section on the B1 floor of Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building, orders are being accepted for this "GETABAKO (Shoe Cabinet)" as well as entoan's men's and women's shoes. Designer Yoshihiro Sakurai will be present on weekends. We encourage you to engage with him.
