Shoemaking isn't simply about adhering parts with manufacturing machinery. While many industries have advanced towards full automation, shoemaking continues to be a craft born from the hands of artisans. This is because, in a word, leather shoes are complex products requiring skilled techniques. Although some mechanization exists, nearly every step involves human hands. Consequently, the inheritance of know-how becomes essential.
REGAL leather shoes are meticulously crafted by artisans in almost every process.
Interestingly, the 2000s have seen an increase in young shoemakers across the industry, breathing new life into the field. This shift has also influenced REGAL Corporation (hereafter: REGAL). Since the 2000s, REGAL has introduced more modern dress shoe lines. Utilizing the expertise cultivated over its long history, younger craftspeople are infusing contemporary aesthetics. Furthermore, what has been passed down is not just know-how.
For REGAL, with over 100 years of history, lasts passed down through generations are a treasure.
Lasts, which can be considered a treasure for any shoemaker, have also been inherited. It's rare for a manufacturer to still produce and sell models that have been made for over 40 years.

The "01RR": Modern Leather Shoes Born from a Beloved Last
The "01RR" utilizes the same last as the "811R," a popular McKay-stitched model launched in 2010 that has been supported by tens of thousands. The last of this long-selling model is characterized by a rounded instep leading to the toe, a sharply upturned sole, and a distinctively bulbous toe.
By employing REGAL's signature Goodyear welt construction, the "01RR" achieves a distinct welt expression, adding volume and a sense of gravitas to the overall design.
While the "811R" with its McKay stitching offers an elegant impression suited for stylish ensembles, the "01RR" exudes a mature dignity, making it a perfect match for more authentic styles.

However, the "01RR" lacks the subdued elegance of aged silver. The reason becomes clear when examining the welt, where the characteristics of Goodyear welt construction are most apparent. Viewed from above, the shoe reveals a bold line for this construction method. Furthermore, by cinching the waist (arch area), it achieves a sleek, modern silhouette.
The materials used also reflect a commitment to modern needs. The "01RR" features smooth leather with a fresh, supple texture, enhancing its premium feel.
