You can participate in Corthay's maintenance lessons even if you don't yet own a pair. The craftsmen at the boutique will guide you through the process, which normally takes about a week – the cream application alone takes five days!

The actual maintenance involves nourishing the leather with cream and restoring shine with wax. Furthermore, a craftsman will meticulously inspect your shoes to identify any areas requiring attention.





Corthay recommends maintenance every six months. It begins with removing dust from the shoes using a cloth. Instead of the usual brushing, a cloth is deliberately used to avoid damaging the leather. The craftsman then feels the shoe's condition by hand.

Five days are dedicated to applying cream, allowing it to slowly penetrate the dry leather with nourishment and moisture, followed by wax to restore shine. Simultaneously, the interior is meticulously wiped with an alcohol-dampened cloth to reset its cleanliness.
