Bespoke Eyewear Creation Also Available
Run by brothers Ryuin and Ryu Okamoto, SOLAKZADE has operated as a wholesaler, online retailer, and by-appointment-only showroom in Osaka since 2007. With the opening of SOLAKZADE Tokyo, they have now fully relocated their base to the capital.
The 15-tsubo store stocks vintage sunglasses and optical frames that they have collected, allowing customers to try them on.
In the back of the store is an atelier, equipped with machinery used in Fukui Prefecture's Sabae City, a world-renowned center for eyewear production, to craft eyeglass frames. In addition to restoration, repair, and customization, they also offer full bespoke eyewear creation.
This is welcome news for those who can't find their perfect pair off the shelf, or who desire a unique frame.
