New Year's "First Custom Order" - The Otsuka Shoe Order Festival
An order event for shoes from "Otsuka Shoe," a prestigious manufacturer with a long history and tradition founded in 1872 (Meiji 5), will be held at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building B1F, Men's Shoes, from January 3rd (Sun) to 12th (Tue), 2016.

Instead of the First Calligraphy of the New Year, Try Your First Custom Shoe Order
Since its founding, Otsuka Shoe has established Western footwear as a new culture in Japan and has continuously pursued shoes that fit Japanese feet. In collaboration with Isetan Men's, they are offering three exclusive lines. While each line previously had its own custom order service within the Men's Shoes section, this "Personal Order Fair" marks the first time all three lines are brought together to celebrate the New Year.
Three Lines Offered at the Men's Building
The highest tier among the three lines is "OTSUKA LIMITED," an Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building exclusive. These ready-to-wear shoes are meticulously hand-sewn by artisans from the hand-sewing department, who have been crafting bespoke shoes since the company's inception. This line offers an opportunity to truly appreciate Otsuka Shoe's history and technical prowess.

"OTSUKA SHOTEN"
"OTSUKA SHOTEN" is the top line of Goodyear welted machine-made shoes, featuring many models that revive designs from the company's early days using contemporary lasts. Otsuka Shoten is also responsible for iconic Japanese shoes like the "button boots."
The Isetan Mitsukoshi original "Otsuka since 1872" offers exceptional value for leather shoes. While it's Otsuka Shoe's entry-level line, it uses leather from top European tanneries and nearly all manufacturing processes are carried out in domestic factories, earning it a loyal following.

Soles can also be chosen, with a wide selection of leathers available.
Delivery Takes Approximately 5 Months from Order
Previously, the three lines were displayed in separate sections of the Men's Shoes department, making it difficult to compare them side-by-side. However, for this Personal Order Fair, all three lines share common lasts, soles, and leathers. The event offers approximately 15 designs, about 3 types of lasts, and an extensive leather collection.
Additionally, this time, customers can specially order hand-dyed (painting) finishes using crust leather from the French tannery Annonay, which is not dyed.
Otsuka Shoe is highly regarded for the traditional techniques and meticulous craftsmanship passed down as Japan's oldest shoemaker. For the start of 2016, why not order your own unique pair?
