The New Label "Borsalino1857" Marks 155 Years

Borsalino: the ultimate hat that every man dreams of wearing. Since its founding in 1857, the brand has consistently pursued the finest design and quality, becoming an adult accessory synonymous with "dignified men." Now, the long-awaited second line, "Borsalino1857," is set to launch in March at Borsalino's directly managed stores. This is a brand born from the desire to make Borsalino more accessible.

The Second Line, Named After the Founding Year, Was Realized Through a Proposal from Japan!

March saw the arrival of exquisite new hats in stores, born from Borsalino's 155-year tradition. Big news for hat enthusiasts has just dropped: the pre-order launch of "Borsalino1857," a second line that allows you to enjoy Borsalino at a more accessible price point.

"Borsalino1857" is an original label, conceived in Japan and produced in Italy, born from Borsalino Japan's aspiration to encourage more Japanese men to enjoy hat styles with ease.

While the main "Borsalino" line uses premium materials like beaver, vicuña, and guanaco, and adheres to strict handcrafting standards using the same hat blocks, pressing irons, and workbenches made of sakura wood as in its early days, this dedication makes them expensive and often perceived as an accessory for older gentlemen. In Japan, hats that pair well with casual styles are popular, but Borsalino often evokes images of hats worn with suits seen in films or by celebrities.

Therefore, "Borsalino1857" utilizes hat blocks that fit Japanese men's heads and selects materials suitable for Japan's climate. This has resulted in the creation of original Borsalino designs, available from around 10,000 yen.

Initially launching at Borsalino's directly managed stores, such as Daimaru Tokyo and Daimaru Shinsaibashi, the planning team in Japan expresses a desire to "eventually expand globally." A Borsalino that fits the Japanese head perfectly – it's certainly worth trying.
