HARRYS OF LONDON | Focus on British Shoes Marked by Pop-Color Soles

HARRYS OF LONDON

Now Open at Hankyu Men's Tokyo in Yurakucho and Umeda Men's Building

Lightweight and Comfortable Shoes Evoking the Spirit of London

On the basement floor of Hankyu Men's Tokyo in Yurakucho, which opened with great fanfare last autumn, you'll find HARRYS OF LONDON, a shoe brand born in London. Its rubber sole, developed in collaboration with Italy's Vibram and named "WINDSURF," comes in five colors. The contrast between the seemingly classic upper design and the pop of color on the sole, glimpsed with every step, offers a fresh take on British style.

The White Egret Emblem is the Family Crest of Founder Matthew Mellon

While the colorful soles are eye-catching, HARRYS OF LONDON is a brand that meticulously upholds traditional European shoemaking techniques while integrating innovative, cutting-edge technology. Since its founding in 2001, the brand has been dedicated to crafting high-quality leather shoes that remain comfortable even in wet conditions.

The original "WINDSURF" sole, known for its excellent slip resistance and abrasion resistance in any environment, is characterized by its unique color palette and serves as the brand's icon. The lightweight rubber sole is deeply embossed with a white egret mark.

This white egret symbolizes "nobility" in Europe and is also the family crest of the brand's founder, Matthew Mellon (of the Mellon family, a major American conglomerate ranking alongside the Morgans and Rockefellers). Furthermore, as a water bird, the egret signifies resilience against water, or rain.

Moreover, the insoles were developed over six years in collaboration with TECHNOGEL, a subsidiary of Germany's Bayer that specializes in medical-grade mattresses and pillows. They perfectly conform to the wearer's foot shape, promising unprecedented comfort and a soft, stable feel.

These shoes, featuring rubber soles with excellent flexibility and abrasion resistance, and insoles offering superior cushioning, are sewn using traditional Italian techniques from San Miniato. As the latest in luxurious "business-casual" footwear, they are poised to be a great companion this spring and summer.
