An American's Parisian Day in Paris
This is a long-term collaborative project between Kris Van Assche and Willy Vanderperre, exploring the Dior Homme collection from another perspective. The short film delves further into the destructive elegance of the 2015 Winter Collection. The visuals, meanwhile, are crafted with a cinematic sensibility.
Titled "PARIS XVIE," the film centers on an American in Paris, depicting his day as a Parisian. American actor Boyd Holbrook plays the American character, who walks through different parts of Paris, collecting and preserving flowers as memories of each place. The final scene, where he dances alone in his room, is particularly striking, reminiscent of a homage to a hit American film featuring Gene Kelly.
Willy Vanderperre explained his choice of Boyd Holbrook as the lead: "We were looking for someone who could bring a more cinematic feel to the idea, and Chris suggested Boyd."
This season's Dior man is as robust as an actor in a film. He presents a look that is confident in its role, yet romantic and playful. It represents a modern combination, blending the elegance and formality of the past with the casual enjoyment of the present. The short film is currently available on DIORMAG.COM.
