A High-End Line Merging 60 Years of History with Cutting-Edge Design
The "K100 by Nigel Cabourn Collection" is a special, MADE IN THE UK line of eight pieces, designed with Nigel Cabourn's extensive knowledge of workwear, including outdoor apparel, and his unique aesthetic. It will be available at select stores, including Nigel Cabourn THE ARMY GYM FLAGSHIP STORE in Nakameguro, Tokyo.
"It was a great honor to receive an offer from Karrimor, a brand globally recognized as specialists in outdoor and mountaineering gear, and highly regarded by British outdoor experts for their innovative designs. I felt I was recognized as a professional in mountaineering apparel by true professionals, and began creating clothes that resonated with their concept," says Nigel Cabourn, discussing his collaboration with Karrimor.
Karrimor's high-end line, K100, derives its name from "Ks-100e," the brand's pioneering waterproof flexible nylon fabric. The line features high-quality products that blend Karrimor's over 60 years of experience and craftsmanship with advanced functional materials and contemporary design. The collection curated by Nigel Cabourn is imbued with his signature British aesthetic.
The Reason for Agreeing to Collaborate with Fred Perry
OPENERS featured the debut collection of "Fred Perry x Nigel Cabourn" earlier this spring, and its second installment, the Autumn/Winter collection, is now available. Inspired by the 1930s, this season offers a distinct feel compared to the debut collection.
Regarding the collaboration with Fred Perry, Nigel Cabourn explains, "I'm currently playing table tennis five times a week and am so passionate about it that I have an international coach. While it's widely known that Fred Perry, the brand's founder, was a world champion in tennis Grand Slams in the 1930s, it's less known that he was also the world table tennis champion in 1929. I believe this collaboration is a connection forged through table tennis."
This season's collection is inspired by archival photographs of Frederick John Perry training at Arsenal Football Club for the Davis Cup. It masterfully revives the casual wear of the 1930s to 1950s for the modern era. The Fred Perry x Nigel Cabourn collection is available at stores such as Fred Perry Laurel Harajuku.
