ISETAN MEN’S

Second Edition of Masterpiece Museum Featuring World-Renowned Icons

Let's Discuss and Try on the Masterpieces of Men's Shoes

Following last year's "MASTER PIECE MUSEUM," themed "A Museum of World-Class Masterpieces," the second edition is set to be held at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building's Men's Shoe Department. For two weeks starting July 22nd (Wednesday), a collection of men's shoe masterpieces, focusing on iconic models from four brands, will be gathered in one place.

Cherish Your Shoes, Wear Them for Years to Come

The stars of the second Isetan Men's "Masterpiece Museum" are the U-tip masterpiece Edward Green "DOVER," the straight-tip standard Church's "Consul," the double-monk strap gem John Lobb "WILLIAM," and the pinnacle of Italian elegance, Silvano Lattanzi "ARMOND."

The Masterpiece Museum is an event unique to Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building's Men's Shoe Department, which boasts a wide selection of world-class footwear. Beyond simply showcasing these masterpieces, the event aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for shoes through conversations with staff.

Church's "Consul"

Craftsmanship Integrated with Design

The Edward Green "DOVER" is an open-laced U-tip, its most striking feature being the hand-stitched skin stitch on the toe, a technique only a select few artisans can perform. Due to the specialized skill required, production is extremely limited.

The model name "Dover" is said to have been inspired by the narrowest part of the English Channel separating Britain and France, named by the British and French individuals who refined the Norwegian fisherman's U-tip/Norwegian moccasin.

Its simple design and slender silhouette exude refinement. While typically made on the 32 last, Isetan Men's has chosen the 202 last for a superior fit. The antique-style polished finish on the toe is also exquisite.

Church's "Consul" is a popular straight-tip/cap-toe with a perfectly balanced design. It is one of the most beloved models from Church's, a brand with a long history dating back to 1873. Featuring classic details like double stitching, and a straight-tip angle with round laces, it embodies a truly British aesthetic.

The last has evolved from the old Church's 73 last to the 100, and now features the 173, a modern reinterpretation of the 73 last. This evolution has resulted in a versatile last that offers an excellent fit regardless of instep height, and improved heel hold, redefining Church's image from "rugged and roomy" to something more refined.

The Subtle Contrast Between British Conservatism and Italian Elegance

John Lobb's "WILLIAM" is an iconic shoe named after William Lobb, the second-generation head of the company, who conceived the design. Characterized by its double-stitched cap toe and double buckles, it is a quintessential conservative model and a long-selling item at Isetan Men's.

The Isetan Men's version of the "William" is a special order featuring a slender "D width" last and museum calf leather, known for its unique luster and depth. Elevated to an elegant double monk strap, it is suitable for formal occasions.

While Silvano Lattanzi's "ARMOND" is typically available only through bespoke orders, Isetan Men's offers ready-to-wear versions, positioning them as an "introduction to bespoke" for customers.

The Reverso finishing, where stitching is concealed up to the eyelets, and the six pairs of eyelets are details that express ultimate elegance.
