The Tod's "Architect Bag" by Oki Sato of nendo

During the Milan Salone in April, "TOD’S" unveiled a bag in collaboration with nendo's Oki Sato. At first glance, the bag appears to have a basic design, but it incorporates ingenious features characteristic of Sato, who brings architects' ideals to life.

Shape Changes According to Use

Oki Sato, chief designer at the design studio "nendo," engages in a wide range of activities that transcend a single genre, including architecture, furniture, lighting, and graphics for companies both domestically and internationally. It is still fresh in our memory that he was awarded Designer of the Year at "Maison & Objet Paris," one of Europe's largest interior design fairs, in January of this year.

Following last year's shoes, "Tod's" has announced a bag in collaboration with Sato during Milan Salone. Named the "Tod's Architect Bag," this item is intended for use by architects and designers. Its defining feature is its ability to change shape according to what is stored inside.

When expanded, it can hold A3-sized drawings and documents without folding. When folded in the center, it opens at both ends, allowing for A4-sized items. Furthermore, the space created in the center when folded can accommodate rolled-up drawings, books, and architectural samples. By tucking the two handles inside, it transforms into a clutch bag, and with the addition of a detachable strap, it becomes a versatile shoulder bag.

This bag is a limited production of only 28 pieces worldwide. In Japan, it will be available exclusively at the Tod's Omotesando store, launching on Friday, May 15th.
