A Highly Practical Knit That Pairs Well with 2-Way Stretch Jacket Trousers

Hiroki Sugimoto, who spent three years at 'DEUX COURS DESIGNWORKS Ginza' on the second floor of the Ginza Velvia Building before joining the staff at 'DESIGNWORKS Concept Store Aoyama' in September 2011. "Compared to other stores, the Aoyama store has a stronger selection of imported brands. Balmain, Trussardi 1911, and Givenchy are only available here. Given the location, many customers come to check out the latest designer collections."

For this warm biz style, Sugimoto picked a mid-gauge knit that can be worn under a jacket. "If it's just warm from layering, it's hard to create a distinct look. This knit from DESIGNWORKS has a tight silhouette, so it looks sharp when you take off your jacket in the office. Its versatility, allowing it to be worn for casual occasions too, is also a major appeal."

The jacket and slacks are from DESIGNWORKS' original 2-way stretch line. "The fabric stretches both vertically and horizontally, offering exceptional comfort and ease of movement even in crowded commutes. It's also resistant to wrinkles, which is another recommended point. The silhouette is very slim and simple, available in sizes 44 to 50. I'm 175 cm tall and wear a size 46," says Sugimoto.

Sugimoto, who strives to engage in conversations that understand his customers' lifestyles, cites DESIGNWORKS Director Kazutoshi Kawashiro and store managers from other branches as his fashion icons. "I'm particularly interested in Kawashiro's style. He can pull off various looks, from suits to casual wear, and I hope to age as gracefully as he does."

"Winter is truly setting in, but DESIGNWORKS has a rich selection of knits with just the right thickness for easy layering, like the one I recommended. It's also the season for accessories like scarves, stoles, and gloves, so we hope couples will visit and find gifts for each other."
