Text by OPENERS
The Fall/Winter 2011-12 Men's Collections kicked off with New York Fashion Week, but as usual, Spring/Summer 2012 begins in Milan. In June, Italy is abuzz with the fashion world—buyers, press, and industry insiders flock to Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence, followed by WHITE in Milan and then the Milan Collections. After this, the fashion week circuit moves to Paris and then New York.
In this era of expanding information ecosystems like the web and social media, fashion news travels faster than ever. While staying abreast of current fall/winter trends is essential, knowing what's coming next spring offers nothing but advantages. Indeed, the evolution of information networks has infused our fashion choices with a sense of speed. By quickly understanding each designer's creations, we can even incorporate those ideas into our current fall wardrobes. Purchasing clothing is not merely an exchange for a product; it's also an acknowledgment of and respect for the designer's ideas and craftsmanship. Consequently, getting a head start on next spring's latest trends offers the benefit of a longer timeframe to consider one's personal style. We will begin by introducing the latest collections, starting with Milan. By grasping the broader trajectory of fashion, we can express our individuality without being swayed by fleeting fads. Which maison's, which designer's, which look resonates with you… that is for each individual to decide.
