Gypsy & sons is a brand that proposes new products by weaving together the meticulous craftsmanship found in American casual vintage, the unique expressions that come with age, and the urban silhouettes and textures of European casual wear. Here, we introduce the brand's latest collection.

──What is the theme/concept for the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection?

This season's theme is "OLD SCHOOL & TEXAS." While inspired by the rugged, masculine landscape of Texas, we've fused that ruggedness with a classic, gentle atmosphere and an old-school style.

──What were your focus points and what should people pay attention to in this season's lookbook shoot?

The styling blends the refined elegance of a sophisticated man with the ruggedness and strength of workwear, creating a look that is both formal and earthy.

──What is the key look (coordination) for this season?

The look is anchored by a rugged combination of a heavy long coat and a distressed denim jacket. This is layered over a refined turtleneck knit, and paired with wool check trousers, blending in an elegant, formal image. It expresses the unique world of Gypsy & sons.

Focus on the unique fabric texture achievable only with a shuttle loom.

──What are the key items and key colors?

The nomad jacket and the denim jacket.

──What materials did you focus on this season?

Our original wool material. We used carefully selected British wool from Ichinomiya, Owari, our base for wool textiles, and wove it on a shuttle loom, which is no longer in production. The fabric's unique texture, achievable only with a shuttle loom, is truly our masterpiece.
