NuGgETS | 2014-15 Autumn/Winter Collection

Green tones, rarely used before, feel refreshingly new!

Focus on NuGgETS' take on military items

Regarding the unique lookbook shoot, Ryuhei Kohoshi, designer of NuGgETS, commented, "This is a layout we've continued since last spring/summer season. By repeatedly taking off and putting on each piece, we've created a sense of rhythm in the overall coordination." Viewing the full 30 looks in the photo gallery from the beginning, the way color and texture change is as beautiful as a color palette. Furthermore, their long-awaited online shop (http://www.nuggets-online.com/) has opened. The site will feature only the staple and carefully crafted items that have been developed since the brand's inception. They also plan to produce in-house lookbooks and special order items on this site in the future. Let's look forward to an even deeper NuGgETS worldview.

30 looks shot as a single cohesive work

What is the theme/concept for the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection?

Currently, we don't set a theme for each season.

What were the key points and what should we pay attention to in this season's look shoot?

It's a process of repeatedly taking off and putting on each piece. We plan to continue shooting this way for some time.

What are the differences in styling, silhouette, and color compared to last year's Autumn/Winter collection?

While the primary colors used haven't particularly changed, this season we're incorporating green tones, which we haven't used much before. This naturally came about due to the abundance of military items and items utilizing military specifications.

What is the key look (coordination) for this season?

Since we shot the entire collection as one piece this time, it's difficult to pick just one. Personally, I like the 18th look (bottom center). I tend to pair contrasting colors when I wear winter clothes, so it's a look I'm fond of.

Accentuated with imported fabrics

What are the key items and key colors?

The green quilted items using fabric from Limonta. As mentioned earlier, with many military-inspired items and specifications this season, this color naturally became one of the key colors.

What "materials" did you focus on this season?

This season, we used imported fabrics. The use of materials from Getzner in Austria and Limonta in Italy became a key accent in this collection.

What are you currently paying attention to in the fashion scene – things, people, or items?

I'm interested in the sense of the times. I'm always thinking about where things are heading and where they should go, and I pay attention to the industry as a whole.

What do you expect from the web magazine OPENERS (http://openers.jp/)?

We always have articles on seasonal collections twice a year. When they feature our work, OPENERS asks more in-depth questions than other web media, which requires us to explain in more detail. Sometimes, it even makes me reconsider things I hadn't deeply thought about during the design process (laughs).

It's gratifying that they can bring out the distinct character of a brand more vividly, so we look forward to more probing questions that will allow us to delve even deeper.
