FLISTFIA | 2014-15 Autumn/Winter Collection
Items that evoke the comfort and texture of well-loved vintage clothing
For Autumn/Winter: A clean, refined European aesthetic
“Every season, I don’t set a major theme; I simply create what I feel like making at that moment,” says Hiroshi Kuramoto, designer of FLISTFIA. His commitment to creating cut-and-sew items that balance quality and price, allowing their inherent charm to shine through, is evident in every look.

A more classic, chic finish
—What was the theme/concept for the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection?
While there isn’t a specific theme, this season we’ve focused on 100% wool and wool-blend materials. As these are cut-and-sew items, all fabrics are washable and finished as ready-to-wear products.
—What were the key points and aspects you wanted to highlight in this season's lookbook shoot?
As it’s the cold autumn and winter season, we’ve used many warm materials. We’ve incorporated a clean, refined European atmosphere that conveys a sense of warmth.
—How does this season's styling, silhouette, and color palette differ from last autumn/winter's collection?
Compared to last autumn/winter, we’ve reduced the sporty elements slightly, opting for a more classic and chic finish. The color palette features many subdued tones, such as deep greens, wine reds, and muted navies.
—What is the key look (outfit) for this season?
We’ve created a refined and elegant style by layering a bright inner piece over a deep green outerwear. Within the classic European ambiance, we’ve retained the casualness inherent in cut-and-sew garments, achieving a look that is both sophisticated and chic, yet casual.
Cut-and-sew jackets & coats approaching perfection
—What are the key items and key colors?
The key items are the green jacket and coat mentioned in the key look above. These are made from cut-and-sew fabric with a significant crispness and structure, akin to woven materials, while retaining elasticity. We’ve been refining these pieces for the past three seasons, making incremental adjustments each time, resulting in what we consider the ideal cut-and-sew jacket and coat. The colors are also uniquely deep, and we’ve been careful to avoid making them too casual.
—What "materials" were you particular about this season?
Wool materials. As FLISTFIA is a cut-and-sew brand, we had previously shied away from wool, but this season we’ve created several items using it. All items undergo a garment wash, so there’s no need to worry about shrinkage. Furthermore, all wool products are finished to be machine washable.
Additionally, for our fleece material, we used 10% cotton for the reverse yarn and 100% wool for the face yarn. The face offers the unique texture and warmth of wool, while the cotton reverse yarn ensures comfort without itchiness.
—What are you currently paying attention to in the fashion scene – things, people, or items?
Lifestyle-oriented fashion, which has gained more attention recently. I’m particularly interested in furniture, which I’ve always liked.
—What are your expectations for the web magazine OPENERS (http://openers.jp/)?
I look forward to more interesting special features in the future.
