Emiri Kitayama (Designer)

Active as a designer, handling everything from branding and product planning to graphics. She has purchased two pairs of glasses from Continuer before and usually doesn't wear sunglasses, making this her first attempt. 'Continuer's selection of glasses is sophisticated, and when I want something with a playful design in a basic color, I come here.' Her current glasses, purchased two months ago, are black-rimmed 'VICTOR&ROLF.' The square shape is classic and basic yet has an impact.

Oversized and red, with a striking presence. The balance with the face is fresh and playful.

These popular sunglasses strike a beautiful balance between edgy frame lines and slightly rounded lens shapes. The extremely thin frame suppresses the volume typical of oversized shapes, giving a modern impression, while the chic 'raspberry red' serves as a stylish accent to any outfit. The lenses feature a deep gradient brown, preventing the vibrant red from becoming overwhelming.

YELLOWS PLUS ¥26,250

A bold choice, inspired by vintage actresses, in a white and black combination.

These sunglasses are by Oliver Goldsmith, a brand beloved by Grace Kelly. The smooth, rounded form, achieved through meticulous polishing, softens the sharp design. Instead of the usual black or brown, white was chosen this time. The contrast with the black temples highlights the elegant ivory white, making them suitable for dressier occasions.

Oliver Goldsmith ¥37,800

I love the 70s vibe. These sunglasses feel close-fitting and very classic.

A masterpiece by Oliver Goldsmith, favored by Audrey Hepburn. The classic dark tortoiseshell pattern exudes refined elegance, and the generous frame that envelops the entire face is both graceful and bold. This oversized round shape is perfectly suited for sharp features and has captivated numerous celebrities.

His current glasses, purchased three months ago at Continuer, are black-rimmed 'YELLOWS PLUS.' 'A friend bought glasses at Continuer, and I liked them, so I came to look. The selection feels both timeless and trendy, and the staff are stylish, so I feel comfortable taking their advice.'

BEST BUY! Relaxed yet refined. Perfect for summer.

These sunglasses, with their oversized lens shape, double bridge, and semi-transparent milky white frame, offer a retro-futuristic look. The slender temples are designed to complement the delicate front, and the lenses feature a gentle 6-curve to conform closely to the face.

Sporty metal frames I wouldn't normally dare to try.

Despite the bold lens shape, they blend naturally with the face when worn, a testament to their sophisticated design. Fully utilizing the properties of stainless steel, the extremely thin rims create a minimalist design. The deep purple gradient adds a touch of allure to the eyes.

MYKITA ¥49,980

A cool, slightly quirky look reminiscent of comic book characters.

These simple sunglasses in a transparent khaki are a versatile mid-size, perfect for this season's trends. Oliver Goldsmith's designs, which dominated Europe in the 60s, have been revived and remain relevant today. The brand's commitment to detail is evident, from the bridge design that enhances the nose line to the star-shaped rivets on the temples.

Oliver Goldsmith ¥35,700

They seem flashy at first, but the way they change appearance from different angles is fun.

This popular model faithfully reproduces and revives Oliver Goldsmith's classic sunglasses. The acetate uses a layered material that changes appearance depending on the angle; from the front, the 'Yellow' stands out beautifully, while from the side, it appears almost black, showcasing various expressions. Production is handled by a Japanese factory renowned for its world-class quality and trusted by the brand.

Oliver Goldsmith ¥36,750

A type of sunglasses that offers a sense of security, the kind I'd usually pick myself.

The combination of a flat front design and curved temples (where the front is bent 90 degrees to create a smooth transition to the temple arms) gives even soft lens shapes a strong impression. The solid black temples are accented by three gleaming rivets, which also contribute to the overall design by supporting the substantial frame. The lenses are equipped with polarized lenses, offering the highest specifications for sunglasses, effectively cutting glare from asphalt and scattered light.

BEAUSOLEIL ¥33,600

Advisor
Ryohei Kamishima (Continuer)

'Emiri Kitayama has a generally oval face shape with distinct features and fair skin, and a sharp jawline. For her facial structure, square frames with defined edges or upswept cat-eye shapes are recommended. Black frames, which create the clearest lines on the face, pair exceptionally well with her defined features and fair complexion.'

'Additionally, soft and relaxed designs like the white sunglasses from Oliver Goldsmith would be great for her to switch to depending on her mood. Perhaps the Oliver Peoples teardrop sunglasses, which dramatically change her look, would be a new discovery for Ms. Kitayama herself. They suited her perfectly, beyond any logical explanation.'
