A Space of Serene Ambiance
Located on the second floor of the West Walk in Mori Tower, a central hub for information in Tokyo, the new BOTTEGA VENETA boutique has opened in a special area that blends seamlessly with the urban landscape. The store's design was overseen by Creative Director Tomas Maier.
The interior features custom-made elements, including aerodynamically shaped vertical louvered windows and carpets made from specially dyed pure New Zealand wool. The color palette, with its matte neutral and earth tones, creates a relaxed atmosphere for shopping. The space elegantly embodies BOTTEGA VENETA's essence: timeless design, modern functionality, exceptional craftsmanship, and the finest materials.
Opening Event Held Amidst Cherry Blossoms
On April 3rd, the day before the official opening, a private preview and lunch were hosted. The ingredients and culinary arrangements were sourced primarily from the Tohoku region, as part of BOTTEGA VENETA's ongoing support for the area. This event also served as an opportunity to showcase the exquisite flavors of Tohoku and present items that blend aesthetic beauty with practical utility, enriching daily life.
The venue, decorated with cherry trees, featured a meticulously prepared meal including preserved delicacies and sakura mochi, made with carefully selected ingredients. The handcrafted bento boxes, showcasing artisanal skill, were made using the traditional 'magewappa' technique from Akita. Each element reflects BOTTEGA VENETA's vision of luxury, interpreted through Japanese aesthetics.
Craftspeople affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake lost their workshops and tools. BOTTEGA VENETA continues to offer substantial support, believing that the preservation of unique regional craftsmanship is key to recovery.
