A capsule toy, developed jointly by Artek, a leading brand in Nordic modern interiors, and Takara Tomy Arts, a Japanese toy manufacturer, is set to be released this summer.

The series is called "Artek Nordic Furniture Miniature Collection: The Alvar Aalto Series," recreating Alvar Aalto's iconic furniture in miniature.

First, it will be available for pre-sale starting Wednesday, July 7, at Artek's flagship store, Artek Tokyo Store in Omotesando, followed by a nationwide release on Monday, July 26.

In addition to stores nationwide that carry Takara Tomy Arts capsule toy vending machines, capsule machines will also be installed at the Finnish Embassy, Artek retail locations, and the museum shops of the exhibition "Aino and Alvar Aalto: Two Aaltos" held at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, as well as "The Finnish Design Exhibition" touring three venues nationwide. Furthermore, starting Monday, July 26, a traveling capsule machine will visit various locations with close ties to Artek, beginning with Kogane-yu in Sumida Ward.

Not only are the structure and features of these iconic furniture pieces meticulously reproduced in miniature, but there's also an unmissable campaign where answering a survey within the capsule offers a chance to win a trip to Finland for one lucky winner.
