Sunglasses lenses inspired by the color of tea from Sado
Launched in 2013 by designer Fujiyoshi Kumagai, "kearny" is an eyewear brand. Its name, derived from Kearny Street in San Francisco, embodies the concept of "the intersection of history and culture." The brand's items, which pay homage to the design, evolution, and form of modern eyeglasses while reflecting the designer's aesthetic sensibility, have garnered attention across various fields. Today, we would like to introduce the latest collection, "gravel."

kearny's latest collection, "gravel," draws inspiration from the colors, shapes, and patterns of stones found by designer Mr. Kumagai on the coast of Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture.
While the brand has previously explored the creation of celluloid eyeglasses, this collection utilizes acetate, a material known for its excellent color vibrancy. The complex patterns, born from nature, are expressed through original, developed materials.
The lenses used in the sunglasses are also original. These are said to be inspired by the colors of traditional tea from Sado.
The collection harmonizes various elements, embodying the brand's concept of "the intersection of history and culture." Naturally, the comfort is also exceptional. This collection truly conveys the designer's dedicated craftsmanship.
