SARO | A lifestyle brand by Sekisaka, a Fukui-based fabless manufacturer.
SARO
The debut collection: "Flatware Collection" by Swiss industrial designer Carlo Clopath.
Sekisaka, with a background spanning nearly 300 years in lacquerware, now develops products in collaboration with designers active both domestically and internationally. They have launched the lifestyle brand "SARO." Envisioning a world where the lines between work and home are blurred by changing food cultures, SARO proposes functional products with a fresh perspective.

Through "SARO," they collaborate with artisans from various fields across Japan, nurturing ideas and re-examining the potential of Japanese craftsmanship and industry. The first collection features Swiss industrial designer Carlo Clopath. Born in 1986, Carlo studied at ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) and now operates his studio in the Alps, where he grew up. He primarily undertakes projects with craftspeople, manufacturers, and research institutions in Europe and Japan.
Drawing inspiration from everyday scenes, the "Flatware Collection" was born. The lineup includes 23 items, ranging from table knives and forks to chopsticks, Chinese soup spoons, and rice paddles. While each item serves a specific function, they possess a degree of versatility for various uses, characterized by their functional, easy-to-handle shapes and timeless aesthetic.
Manufacturing is handled by established makers such as Korindo (Fukui), Kuramoto Spoon Factory (Hiroshima), Oogishi Shoh Shoten (Fukui), Oizumi Bussan (Niigata), Takakuwa Metal (Niigata), Hideo Yamada Shoten (Fukui), and Yamagami Mokko (Hokkaido). Their precision is guaranteed. We look forward to the brand's second collection.
