From "Arita Porcelain Lab," the modern brand of "Sazaemon Kiln," a long-established Arita ware kiln established in 1804, comes a new creation inspired by "Rising Sun," traditionally used for celebrations. This flat plate, adorned with the "Rising Sun Auspicious Crest" pattern in gold and wine red, began its pre-sale on December 6, 2023, at Isetan Shinjuku.

Arita Porcelain Lab, the modern brand of the long-established Arita ware kiln "Sazaemon Kiln," will celebrate its 220th anniversary in 2024. Skilled artisans craft Arita ware with a luxurious yet refined beauty, using techniques passed down through generations and glazes and technologies evolved through repeated trials.

The new "Rising Sun Auspicious Crest Wine Red" is a flat plate that modernizes the "Rising Sun Auspicious Crest" pattern, originally used in a 2016 collaboration with Guerlain's renowned fragrance MITSOUKO, by rendering it in gold and wine red.

The design is inspired by the "Rising Sun," a motif historically used to represent "hare" (celebratory occasions). Within the pattern of sunbeams spreading in all directions without clouds, auspicious motifs traditionally considered lucky in Arita ware are scattered, including "Paulownia," representing nobility, "Plum," symbolizing life, "Peony," warding off evil spirits, and "Chrysanthemum," signifying longevity. While a classic pattern, the design exudes a modern impact and is exquisitely beautiful.

The red hues utilize traditional Arita ware iron red and vibrant selenium red, achieved after several trials. The gold is microwave-safe, allowing for everyday use of this Arita ware without reservation.
