The first thing that strikes many about Edward Wohl's cutting boards is their sheer beauty.
He is an artist who has spent over 40 years in Wisconsin, USA, designing and crafting intricate furniture and cutting boards. His works, approached with an architectural and sculptural sensibility, are gaining recognition in galleries and shops worldwide.
In the United States, logging is prohibited for environmental conservation. He personally travels thousands of kilometers whenever he finds a fallen tree, confirming its condition before beginning his work.
The cutting boards are made from a rare maple known as "Birdseye Maple," characterized by its distinctive grain. He meticulously polishes it, just as he would for furniture, achieving a smooth, beautiful curve and a silky-smooth texture. Its substantial weight and the inherent resilience of maple, which resists knife marks, make it a masterpiece that combines both beauty and durability.
