Z-shaped temples act as springs. Three models released from a French eyewear brand | GOUV/AU

GOUV/AU

GOUV/AU, a French eyewear brand with roots in a 1878 eyewear factory, "Gouverneur Audiger," has arrived in Japan, carrying on the legacy of fine eyewear craftsmanship into the modern era. At first glance, the designs appear classical, but they incorporate a structure that ensures a comfortable fit for a variety of face widths.

Harnessing Over 130 Years of History and Expertise to Maximize the Potential of Metal Eyewear

"Gouverneur Audiger" is an eyewear factory known for inventing the cable temple (a temple that wraps around the ear) in the early 1900s. In addition to comfort and design, the factory has long focused on creating an environment where artisans can work comfortably.
Born from such a factory, "GOUV/AU" was launched in 2015. A key design feature is the temple, which bends in two stages, like the letter "Z." This shape allows the temples to open outwards in two stages, acting as springs and providing a gentle, enveloping fit from the sides. They accommodate a variety of face widths. The hinge connecting the front and temple uses a "Sparta hinge," which is milled as one piece with the front, ensuring a clean look and durability.
