ROOTBOUND
Hats by "TEMBEA" and T-shirts with designs by Yoichiro Uchida to be released in limited quantities.
Launched in 2015, "ROOTBOUND" is a project by three plant geeks: "ARAHEAM," an agricultural production corporation; "PLACERWORKSHOP," specializing in original orchid varieties; and "STUDIO PREPA," a blown glass studio also adept at garden design. From May 3rd, they will host the online exhibition "ROOTBOUND 9."

The theme for "ROOTBOUND 9" is "COEXIST IN PEACE PLANTS DON'T LIE." Thirty-four potted plants will express the "preciousness of enjoying peace." Limited edition items will also be released for this event.
The special edition slouch hat, custom-made by bag brand "TEMBEA," features a wider brim designed for outdoor use. A snap button on the right side of the brim ensures a clear field of vision during tasks involving tools like axes and shovels, and prevents obstruction of movement. These are thoughtful ideas, fitting for those whose work is centered around gardens and fields.
Yoichiro Uchida, a member of "ROOTBOUND" and an artist, has designed two types of photo T-shirts: one featuring motifs from photographs taken in Pioneertown, California, and another with a message T-shirt bearing the exhibition's theme. His "doodle" style boldly expresses their stance and philosophy. Both are limited edition items and are scheduled to go on sale from May 3rd at 12:00 PM.
