Artek Launches New "Rope Chair" and "Tupla Wall Hook" in Japan

In February 2020, Artek announced two new products: the "Rope Chair" and the "Tupla Wall Hook." On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, an event will be held to celebrate their long-awaited release in Japan.

The "Rope Chair" and "Tupla Wall Hook" by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, announced in February and met with much anticipation, will be available in Japan from Wednesday, October 21st.
To mark the occasion, an event titled "Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec / Art & Technology," showcasing recent design products by the Bouroullec brothers, will be held in conjunction with CIBONE, which has reopened in Omotesando.
The event will take place at Artek Tokyo Store and the online Artek Webstore.
The Rope Chair is composed of contrasting elements: cutting-edge technology and creative expression, rigid, inorganic tubes and soft, organic rope.
While the wide seat allows for freedom of posture, the rope backrest provides comfort that adapts to the sitter's weight. It is truly a product born from a new concept: designed anew for each person who sits on it.
The "Tupla Wall Hook," in addition to its function of holding items, can also serve as a beautiful decorative piece on its own. "Tupla" means "double" in Finnish. As the name suggests, it combines functionality with lyrical decorative appeal.
