Known as the "conscience of Finnish design," Kaj Franck, who passed away 30 years ago this year, designed the "Teema" tableware series, released by Iittala in 1952.
The designer's pursuit of perfect usability in terms of function, storage, and everything else resulted in a minimalist aesthetic where "the only necessary decoration is color." It is known as an iconic Iittala product for its beauty and high functionality. A Japan-exclusive color, "Honey," will be released in late August.
The vibrant and warm hue pairs well with classic colors like white, and will undoubtedly be useful for a wide range of occasions, from daily meals to parties. It is planned to be available only in Japan until the summer of 2020.
