Baccarat, a symbol of French art de vivre (the art of living) and soon to celebrate its 250th anniversary, is currently hosting “Living with Baccarat Through the Seasons” at its Marunouchi store until Friday, June 28th. Four Seasons in the Glow of Baccarat
A summer table setting evoking coolness with Baccarat, a black lacquered tray and Baccarat illuminated by a chandelier reminiscent of a full moon, and a winter hot pot with Baccarat.—The displays, a collaboration of Baccarat's creations and Japanese culture depicting the beautiful four seasons, represent a completely new fusion of French and Japanese lifestyles.
Baccarat's encounter with Japan began 110 years ago when Fujitaro Haruumi, a tea master and antique dealer, introduced Baccarat as tea utensils.
Since then, Baccarat has embraced the Japanese appreciation for the subtle transitions of the seasons, integrating into daily life and, it can be said, making everyday living more beautiful and radiant.
The exhibition features Baccarat products that harmonize beautifully with Japanese elements such as shoji screens, hibachi braziers, and washi paper wallpaper, including the new “Glass Japan” collection developed to suit the Japanese lifestyle.
