Nagasaki Prefecture's Hasami-yaki has produced daily tableware for 400 years, achieving reliable quality and pricing. HASAMI PORCELAIN, inheriting this tradition while developing a global brand, is launching a new project, 'ART MUG,' with seven artists.

Launched in the United States in 2011 under the direction of Takahiromi Shinomoto, who resides in Los Angeles, HASAMI PORCELAIN has gained significant support in America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania for its simple, unadorned forms and modular, stackable design. In 2016, it was chosen for Apple Inc.'s original mug cups, spreading the name "HASAMI" worldwide through its products.

Sales began in Japan in 2013, and this year marks the 10th anniversary. To commemorate this, we are launching the 'ART MUG' project to explore new possibilities for art and mugs. Mug cups by seven artists will be released sequentially within the year.

The first release features Yoichiro Uchida, who provides artwork for "TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist" and "Loro Piana," among others. Uchida has based his artwork on a quote by film director David Lynch, applying it to the brand's "Mug Cup" (85mm Medium, White). It will be available from April 17th (Monday) on a special website.
