FIELD NOTES is beloved by fans worldwide for embodying "good old America." While their standard notebooks have a dedicated following, the limited editions released four times a year are particularly popular. In June 2019, the brand's 42nd limited edition, "Mile Marker," was released. Conceptually based on the highway system spanning the United States, it features a simple yet iconic design.

Founded in Chicago in 2007, FIELD NOTES is infused with American playfulness. The brand began by reimagining the small notebooks that American farmers traditionally used for farm work notes, creating pocket-sized versions for modern lifestyles. With a commitment to "MADE IN U.S.A." in materials and manufacturing, they achieve durable craftsmanship through partnerships with various factories and artisans across the United States.
Co-founder Aaron Draplin is a collector of old farmer's notebooks and runs a project to archive their precious designs online.
His collection exceeds 800 volumes, and the pervasive sense of "good old America" serves as the inspiration for FIELD NOTES.
Furthermore, the limited editions released quarterly, each season, feature cover colors not found in their standard products and utilize special printing techniques, attracting a large fanbase eagerly awaiting their release. The latest release is the brand's 42nd limited edition, "Mile Marker." This edition is conceptually based on the highway system across the United States, boasting a simple and iconic design. The three cover variations are inspired by road signs designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, a truly FIELD NOTES-esque design.
The covers feature holographic printing on the motifs, text, and borders, designed to reflect like "road signs" under car headlights for easy visibility. The notebooks have a 5mm dot grid in gray, unobtrusive to writing, making them ideal for jotting down drive routes or recording mileage. By slipping them into your pocket and using them actively and freely, you can truly experience the playful spirit of this limited edition and the brand's signature durability.
