Our original Nakameguro store has been renewed. An exhibition by Ryuji Kamiyama and Shu Murakami will be held | BRICK & MORTAR

BRICK & MORTAR

The Main Event: Collaborative Vases. A Joint Exhibition by Two Painters.

BRICK & MORTAR is a shop that discovers new value in products by transcending borders and styles, selecting items that live on in the present day. The Nakameguro store, which opened in March 2014, has been renewed and will reopen on December 7th (Friday). To commemorate this, a joint exhibition, "SHUT UP AND DRINK," will be held featuring two painters, Ryuji Kamiyama and Shu Murakami.

Live Painting and Live Silk Screening During the Exhibition Period

The new concept for "BRICK & MORTAR Nakameguro Store" is "A place to convey fresh ideas while they are still in season." Aiming to be a shop that acts as a medium, constantly aware of freshness and applying editorial curation, it strives to communicate flexibly.

To celebrate this renewal, an exhibition by Ryuji Kamiyama and Shu Murakami, "SHUT UP AND DRINK," will be held from Friday, December 7th to Wednesday, December 26th.

Ryuji Kamiyama, with a background in graphic design and experience in the apparel industry, now works freely as an artist, improvising without regard for materials. Shu Murakami is known for his work with the product brand "amabro" and his unique construction methods. These two painters, wielding contrasting styles, hit it off over drinks with the sentiment, "Stop talking and just drink! (SHUT UP AND DRINK)" leading to this joint exhibition.

The centerpiece of this exhibition is collaborative vases. While adhering to the traditional techniques of Arita ware, the artists have layered their expressions to create unique pieces. In addition to the vases, collaborative canvas works and art pieces (T-shirts, stickers, ceramics, etc.) will be exhibited and sold.

During the exhibition period, numerous events are planned, including live creation, live painting, and live silk screening. Information will be announced on their respective Instagram accounts. It will be interesting to see how these two painters will adorn the newly renovated store.
