Focus on Fukuoka's "COCTEAU" Event

At doinel, the interior and lifestyle store in Kita-Aoyama, an exhibition by Fukuoka-based antique shop COCTEAU is being held. This event features two main exhibitions: "French Antiques and Their Surroundings," focusing on French antiques, and "Tibetan Plateau Shawls," showcasing yak shawls.

French Antiques and Their Surroundings

COCTEAU, based in a room within an old building in Fukuoka, introduces European antiques and products from Japan and abroad, guided by the concept of "In an age of abundance, discerning and nurturing what you love."
For "French Antiques and Their Surroundings," COCTEAU has curated a collection primarily of antiques selected from flea markets in Paris and the South of France, creating a unique worldview. The exhibition also proposes a lifestyle incorporating French antiques.

Tibetan Plateau Shawl Exhibition

Simultaneously, an exhibition of exquisite hand-woven shawls, luxuriously made from rare yak (Bovidae family) and wool from a small village at 3,200 meters on the Tibetan Plateau, is also being held. Beneath the coarse, long black hair of the yak lies a fine, precious brown undercoat called "kur" which offers excellent softness and warmth, protecting nomadic people from the harsh cold from ancient times to the present. This exhibition allows visitors to experience the texture and natural dyes.

This is an excellent opportunity to experience COCTEAU's aesthetic sensibility and the stories behind their objects. Why not stop by while exploring during Design Week?
