Introducing "Zuan" to enrich and enjoy daily life

Makoto Kagoshima's works, including vessels and objets d'art, brim with a cheerful charm, depicting motifs of plants and animals in his distinctive style.

This year's "Makoto Kagoshima's Zuan Exhibition" at doinel, following last year's event, will exclusively feature handmade ceramic works with "fish" as the theme. These are presented as "zuan" (designs) to enrich and enjoy daily life.

The exhibition unfolds Kagoshima's designs through a sensory experience of enjoyment and craftsmanship, showcasing mobiles suspended in the air that compose the space, paper products like napkins to adorn dining tables, and fabric items such as Kurume Kasuri, a traditional craft from the Chikugo region of Fukuoka Prefecture, and Indian woodblock prints.
