S.T. Dupont introduces its new collection, "The Atelier Sunburst." Featuring lighters and writing instruments, these are exquisite items finished one by one with special effects by highly skilled lacquer artisans.

Lighters and Writing Instruments in the Collection
The "Atelier" was created in 1953 at a workshop in Favarger, in the Haute-Savoie region of France. This is where unique, special models, including bespoke commissions, have been produced. It embodies the metalworking and lacquer craftsmanship, expertise, and all the techniques for producing lighters and writing instruments that have been passed down through generations.
Each precious drop of lacquer, carefully collected, is transformed by the know-how and techniques of S.T. Dupont artisans into a natural lacquer with a luster and deep hue that cannot be replicated by other paints. Based on traditional lacquering techniques that have continued since the company's founding, the "Atelier" line, revived at the end of 2014, is also colored by repeatedly applying pure lacquer.
This meticulous process allows for the expression of delicate patterns through gloss and depth of color.
Now, the Sunburst effect, incorporating contemporary graphic art born from another unique technique of "Atelier," is being released. This effect, with its beautiful deep colors and gradients, is meticulously hand-applied by skilled lacquer artisans.
Key features include the 1953 logo across the surface, the leaf logo previously engraved on lacquerware, and the hallmark stamp, a stylized design of Mercury's chariot wheel and wings, symbolizing the craftsmanship of S.T. Dupont.
