Cleansui
“Cleansui Knows Japanese Crafts” Begins
In 1984, Cleansui became the first in the world to adopt the revolutionary hollow fiber membrane in a home water purifier, and for over 30 years, has provided clean, delicious water. Now, a project is launching to deliver this world-leading purification technology—which removes impurities while retaining minerals—in a form that integrates seamlessly into modern living. This is “Cleansui Knows Japanese Crafts.”

Pop-up Shop Opens February 2nd at BEAMS JAPAN 1F
As water becomes increasingly vital for human life, Cleansui, looking towards the future, turned to the power and potential of Japanese crafts. The project was initiated with the desire to “collaborate with craftspeople who create through superior skill and knowledge, to envision tools for a life where clean water is a given.” Harumi Fukuda, branding director, and Shinichiro Nakamura, representative of LANDSCAPERS, are leading the project’s direction.
The first collaboration is with “Shigaraki ware,” renowned as one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns. A Cleansui hollow fiber membrane filter cartridge docks into a ceramic server, crafted by reinterpreting Shigaraki’s traditional glazes, forms, and techniques for contemporary living. This fusion of balanced craftsmanship, blending tradition and innovation, with a manufacturer’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and quality, has given birth to the “Shigaraki Ware Water Purifier Cleansui JP100-C.”
The design and production of the main unit were handled by Shunsuke Kato, head of “NOTA&design,” who designs and produces ceramics and lifestyle goods centered on pottery, while working at “Yamatsu Tougyo,” founded in 1881.
“I wanted to create something that harmonizes the warmth of Shigaraki ware’s pottery with the precision of Cleansui’s products,” says Nakamura. From February 2nd (Thursday), a pop-up shop where you can experience the “Shigaraki Ware Water Purifier” firsthand will be held at BEAMS JAPAN 1F. Why not take this opportunity to savor clean, delicious water?
