Kiyoyuki Okuyama and Yamagata Dan-tsu: The Ambitious 10th Anniversary Creations, "HAMON" and "TANADA" | Yamagata Dan-tsu
Yamagata Dan-tsu
Showcasing Peak Craftsmanship: Familiar Landscapes Woven into Rugs
Oriental Carpet, renowned for its integrated in-house manufacturing process and hailed as the pinnacle of Japanese quality, presents "Yamagata Dan-tsu" as its personal use brand. Since 2006, the brand has been collaborating with Kiyoyuki Okuyama, a globally acclaimed industrial designer and a native of Yamagata City.
This year, marking its 10th anniversary, the brand has released "HAMON" and "TANADA." Both are monochromatic yet intricately express the ripples on water and terraced rice fields through the skillful use of yarn texture, varying lengths, and weaving techniques. Beyond their comfortable feel, they add a dynamic accent to any space as the interplay of light and shadow shifts throughout the day.
