Kouichi Okamoto, who presents unique outputs across the realms of art, music, and design, leads “kyouei design.” Their new product, the “bookmark light,” is a revolutionary item that functions as a bookmark when placed in a book and transforms into a reading light when folded.



Electronic circuits are printed with conductive silver nano-ink on a special film. The structure is such that users prepare a lithium coin battery separately, and when this coin battery is sandwiched between the plus and minus markings on the bookmark, it illuminates.

This was developed in collaboration with “AgIC,” a venture company originating from the University of Tokyo. A truly wondrous product has been born, capable of changing the act of reading and bringing surprise.
