Papier Labo, a shop dedicated to paper and its related items, is entering its ninth year since opening. A new line of notebooks and book covers has been born from a collaboration between the shop and stationery maker Hightide, under their joint brand "PH (Pe-ha)." Both feature "Kanreisha," a coarsely plain-woven fabric used for bookbinding spines, as their covers. Silk screening is then applied over this to add color, allowing the texture of the fabric's weave to stand out vividly. The notebooks come in two sizes, B6 and B5, with the line spacing subtly adjusted for each size to enhance usability. The book covers are designed for standard Japanese paperback sizes and include a slit in the fold for a reading card.
