Craftsmanship Cultivated Over 150 Years, For a Future We Cherish

The “Garabo” spinning machine, developed in Japan in the early Meiji era. Known for its “garagara” sound as it spins yarn, only a few of these machines are still in operation in Japan today, making them exceptionally rare. Karako, from the product label Perrocaliente, is a handkerchief made using this “Garabo” spinning method. Produced at a textile factory in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, its primitive spinning process results in a rustic texture akin to hand-spun yarn and a wonderfully soft feel against the skin. It also boasts excellent absorbency, oil absorption, and quick-drying properties, meaning that even after fulfilling its duty as a handkerchief, it can be repurposed as a kitchen cloth. This is a perfect piece for gifting.
