A Design Evoking the Breath of Life
"AnyTokyo" is a design event where future-oriented designs and ideas converge. In its third year, the theme is "DIVERSITY & BEAUTY," showcasing a multitude of designs that enrich our lives through diversity.
Satoshi Itasaka is a designer highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally for his products that incorporate messages into their design. He is also one of the promising young architects gaining attention in the architectural field. In interior and product design, he garnered significant attention last year at Milan Salone with the presentation of "Balloon Chair," a piece that seemed to float. Most recently, he participated in the Hermès event "petit h" held in Kyoto.
Satoshi Itasaka, who also exhibited at AnyTokyo in 2013 and 2014, created his new work "THE BIRTH" for this event. It is a chandelier conceived from the mysterious light said to emanate from an egg cell at the moment of fertilization.
The piece is intended to allow us to feel the mystery of life more intimately, fostering a renewed appreciation for its preciousness. It is available in two sizes, with varying dimensions. While AnyTokyo 2015 has limited time remaining, this exquisite lighting, inspired by the very instant of birth, is a must-see.
