A Must-Read Free Magazine Highlighting Beppu's "Other Side"

BEAMS has curated various content and promoted Japan's appeal by collaborating with local governments and companies from different industries. This collaboration with Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, marks the second time, following the 'BEAMS Ashiyu' (foot bath) event held in November 2016.

For the 'new souvenirs,' local companies and creators in Beppu City were invited to participate in October 2017, resulting in the selection of 16 businesses. Two buyers from BEAMS JAPAN oversaw the supervision, aiming to develop products that could become the 'standard for Beppu's future.' After three months of discussions and prototyping, the products were completed. They will be showcased together at BEAMS JAPAN in Shinjuku. All products will be sold at this event and are also scheduled to be available through the sales channels of each business owner within Beppu City.

The free magazine 'Marude Yukemuri,' distributed from Wednesday, February 7th, features a three-day, two-night trip to Beppu by three individuals: a model/actress, a vocalist, and a playwright/actor. The cast includes model and actress Ayako Yanagui, Yukiyoshi Natsume, vocalist of 'Shamcats,' and Akito Inui, playwright and actor who leads 'Tetsuwaru Albatrossket.' In addition to pages deeply reflecting each individual's personality, the magazine includes columns focusing on Beppu's people, products, and culture, centered around the theme of Beppu's 'other side.' After reading, one will surely feel drawn to the land of Beppu. A talk event is also scheduled for Monday, February 12th (holiday) at Daikanyama T-Site.
