Reinterpreting Origami Artist Mitsuhiro Uchiyama's "Kamon-Ori" Through a Brand Lens | HOW TO WRAP_
HOW TO WRAP_
Established in 2014 by Takashi Yamamoto, this wrapping brand, which proposes contemporary methods of "wrapping," pays homage to "Kamon-Ori."
A New Form Reached by an Emerging Wrapping Brand
Held at "Takeo Sample Library at Itoya" on the 7th floor of Ginza Itoya, the exhibition "The Shapes of Wrapping by HOW TO WRAP_" reinterprets "Kamon-Ori," originally conceived by origami artist Mitsuhiro Uchiyama, through the unique perspective of the emerging wrapping brand "HOW TO WRAP_."
"Kamon-Ori" is characterized by the beautiful geometric patterns born from its mathematically governed folding method. While examining this long-forgotten traditional origami, the brand proposes products using the same techniques. The exhibition runs until November 21 (Tuesday). Luxurious and beautiful *pochibukuro* (small envelopes) are available for purchase at the venue.
