Focus on Robots by Junichi Matsuzaki!
"Somewhere in the vast universe, there is a star where robots create Christmas presents.
On the production conveyor belt, many gifts flow,
and these presents will be delivered to all the stars by astronaut Santas riding spaceships.
it is said."
The theme for The Conran Shop's 2015 Christmas is this world unfolding in space. The collection features a wide array of items that will heighten the anticipation leading up to Christmas, including robots with various expressions, the ever-popular Christmas ornaments, champagne glasses that add sparkle to the dining table, and candle holders. Interior items that add warmth to this season are also abundant.
Robots Over 1 Meter Tall Appear in the Shop
For this "Christmas 2015 Space," Junichi Matsuzaki, the sole proprietor of "DESIGN UNDERGROUND" and the self-proclaimed "appliance collector" in Japan, has been specially commissioned to create the display robots.
Matsuzaki is active in reviving the charm of Japanese-made appliances by collecting, maintaining, and customizing vintage home electronics (primarily cassette tape recorders). At The Conran Shop, his unique robots, the only ones of their kind in the world, will adorn the store with delightful features like lights and moving eyes, as if brought to life.
