Cutting boards made from Canadian maple
"Birdseye Maple": Ready to grace your table
The maple leaf, depicted on Canada's flag, holds significant cultural importance. In Canada, maple is cherished, with its sap tapped for syrup and its wood used for furniture and more. Canadian hard maple, grown resilient through harsh winters and heavy snow, boasts exceptional resistance to impact and friction, finding use in dance hall floors, bowling alley approaches, and pins.
The "Birdseye Maple" cutting board, distinguished by its beautiful "bird's eye" figuring, offers a wide range of sizes, from compact daily use to large boards perfect for home parties.

A masterpiece reflecting the pride of Canadian artisans
Maple wood, heavier and denser than other woods, possesses exceptional strength and durability. Among these trees, a rare "bird's eye" figuring, resembling a bird's eye, appears in approximately one in every 2,000 trees.
This naturally formed, miraculous pattern creates a fine-grained surface with a silky luster. Often called "wood marble," it's used in luxury car interiors, high-end furniture, and musical instruments like Stradivarius pianos.
Maple boards are long-lasting due to their resistance to scratches, while their inherent softness protects knife edges from dulling. The bird-motif grip, enhancing the beauty of the birdseye, features an elegantly curved form that fits comfortably in the hand, and the wood's surface is exquisitely smooth to the touch—a testament to the masterful craftsmanship of Canadian artisans.
Safe for direct food contact, as it's made from the same wood used for maple syrup
Maple's hardness and strength allow it to be cut into thin boards without cracking. Despite their thinness, these boards have a satisfying weight, providing stability and preventing slippage when cutting firm ingredients. The beautifully rounded corners are gentle to the touch, ensuring safety even for children helping in the kitchen.
Arranging cheeses, bread, cured meats, or fruits on the cutting board enhances their appeal with the warmth of natural wood, highlighting their fresh flavors. Simple yet thoughtful presentations transform into delightful dishes.
To ensure longevity, rinse with water after each use and dry thoroughly. For maintenance, simply apply a colorless oil like olive oil to the entire surface once a month to prevent moisture absorption.
